Shawna Shechosky

Shawna was born and raised in Edmonton. She completed her Bachelor of Arts at MacEwan University, receiving several awards and scholarships throughout her degree. Shawna subsequently pursued law at the University of Alberta and earned her Juris Doctor in 2021.

During law school, Shawna continually pursued opportunities to gain experience working with clients. She volunteered with various pro-bono organizations, including the SAGE Wills Project and Student Legal Services. Through her volunteer work, Shawna has appeared in Provincial Court on contested matters, conducted a family Judicial Dispute Resolution (JDR), and drafted written materials for a residential tenancy dispute hearing. In her final year of law school, Shawna worked at a contingency-based personal injury firm and successfully settled several claims.

Outside of the office, Shawna enjoys teaching competitive dance, travelling, and spending time with friends and family.
