Summer Law Students

We provide summer students with the opportunity to do meaningful work on actual client matters; to participate in training programs modeled on the training we provide our associates; and to get to know our team through a variety of social events.

Summer students do not merely contribute to our culture of collaboration — they thrive within it.

Applications for our 2019 summer student program are now closed.

Law Students FAQ

What do you look for in a summer/articling student?
We primarily look for “firm fit” and personality. Law school and undergraduate grades are a consideration, as well as previous work experience.

How many summer/articling students do you hire?
We typically hire 1-2 articling students and 1-2 summer students. Students in 1st year and 2nd year are both encouraged to apply to our summer program.

How am I provided with feedback?
You will be given constant feedback on your work throughout your time with us. You can expect informal feedback from meetings or emails with lawyers, and we will meet with you one on one throughout your time with us to give you a more formal evaluation. Our doors are always open for student questions, and we are always looking for suggestions to improve our student programs.

What is your salary for articling students? Do I receive benefits?
We offer a salary that is competitive with other firms in Edmonton and the surrounding area. We provide our articling students with comprehensive benefits.
