Asa Hagel

STudent-at-Law, B. Arts Criminology (2016, with distinction), J.D. (2019) 

Asa was born in Calgary and raised in Edmonton. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology in 2016 at the University of Alberta before earning her Juris Doctor at the University of Calgary in 2019. During law school, Asa volunteered with Student Legal Assistance and Pro Bono Students Canada and played on the law school rugby team. Throughout her undergraduate degree, she volunteered with the Edmonton Police Service and the Mustard Seed.

Asa spent her first summer of law school at a large firm in Calgary before starting her career at Birdsell Grant as a summer student in 2018. She has returned in 2019 as a Student-at-Law.

In her spare time, Asa likes trying to improve her golf game, watching the Yankees, attending barre classes, doing puzzles, reading and travelling. She has travelled to Australia, Belize, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Italy, Mexico, Montenegro, Thailand, Vietnam, United Kingdom and the United States. Asa further spent a year as an au-pair in Switzerland.
